Williams Lake Mayor Surinderpal Rathor signed the state of emergency declaration just hours after the fire started. The city’s Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) was activated at Level 3, and also an evacuation alert was issued for residents along Mackenzie Avenue and the west side of the city.
